At least seven people were killed in an explosion at a gas station in a small village in northwest Ireland, police said Saturday

Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin said the death toll would likely rise.

“(It's) a shocking toll and there will be more, and it’s a search operation now and we hope and pray," he said.

Irish police said 4 humans were confirmed lifeless in a single day, including to the initial toll of three from Friday's explosion in Creeslough

County Donegal. Eight human beings are in hospitals and numerous human beings are unaccounted for after a blast tore via the Applegreen provider station within the community of approximately four hundred people.

“The search and recovery for further fatalities continues, said the police force, An Garda Siochana. The cause of the blast is under investigation.
